Banham Zoo

Quite possibly the biggest zoo in Norfolk, this particular entry is also known for being one of the best! With birds like a variety of owls and hawks, reptiles such as pythons and iguanas, and lovable mammals from cheetahs to red pandas, everyone can see their favourite animals! This zoo also offers amazing keeper experiences, such as feeding a cheetah, an animal trainer experience, and a photography workshop.

Amazona Zoo – Cromer

Amazona zoo is the perfect place to get up close with the animals. With over 200 animals, with the animals primarily from South America. From tapirs to Jaguars, there’s bound to be at least one furry face you’ll fall in love with. It also has both indoor and outdoor play areas and a large tropical style yurt for birthday parties – for some summer days you can even use their camping site!

Africa Alive – Lowestoft

Africa Alive has close links to Banham Zoo – which just gives both an extra ‘sealion’ of approval! Africa alive is home to over 80 African species across 100 acres of countryside. This also offers experiences such as ‘Meet the Meerkats’ and ‘Feed a Giraffe.’ They also have plenty of activities and displays, such as the safari road train, the mighty Zulu nation theatre company performing every weekend from Saturday 27th July to Sunday 1st September 2019, and meet and greets with Dora the Explorer and Peter Rabbit this summer.

Pettitts Animal Adventure Park

All kinds of entertainment combine as one in the Pettitts adventure park. They have attractions like the new bouncing kangaroo and crazy caterpillar rides, their Jurassic Crazy Golf and play areas like the play beach and indoor fun factory. Not forgetting the animals, they have lemurs, racoons and meerkats, along with a petting area and chance to feed the fish.

Hunstanton Sea Life Sanctuary

There are Sea Life sanctuaries in both Hunstanton and Great Yarmouth, but for us this one gets the slight edge. This sanctuary is home to seals, penguins, otters, turtles, sharks and of course plenty of fish! They also hold regular beach cleans on old Hunstanton Beach, so you can do your part to help the environment. They have plenty of talks too, and new ‘rainforest rangers’ consisting of insects and reptiles.
